Description: i. karumbah’s Lee Sommie and Renne Leatto wrote and directed the Shamu TV series pilot episode, Wild Arctic, which secured the show’s cable network deals. The show became a weekly feature on The Discovery Channel and Animal Planet. Renne and Lee wrote numerous subsequent episodes and Renne acted as Head Writer for three seasons. TV Guide selected one of our Emmy award winning episodes, Habitat Is Home, as its "Best Bets for Kids," the first such listing for an Animal Planet show. Renne also wrote numerous songs for the series, including The Ballad of Klondike and Snow, about the polar bear cubs SeaWorld adopted from the Denver Zoo.
